Calling out Comey

It appears the former FBI Director may have badly misplayed his hand when he raised the issue of his memos:
Yesterday, the New York Times reported that former Director Comey created memos regarding his interactions with President Trump, "a paper trail Mr. Comey created documenting what he perceived as the president's improper efforts to influence an ongoing investigation."' 'The article stated that "Mr. Comey created similar memos - including some that are classified about every phone call and meeting he had with the president." More generally, the article stated "Mr. Comey was known among his closet advisers to document conversations that he believed would later be called into question." Presumably, this means that Mr. Comey created similar memoranda relating to other controversial conversations, whether with officials in the current administration or the prior one.

We are writing to request that the FBI provide the Committee with all such memos, if they exist, that Mr. Comey created memorializing interactions he had with Presidents Trump and Obama, Attorneys General Sessions and Lynch, and Deputy Attorneys General Rosenstein, Boente, and Yates regarding the investigations of Trump associates' alleged connections with Russia or the Clinton email investigation. Please provide these documents by no later than May 24, 2017.
So, either Comey will be revealed as an unreliable source if he has no other memos, or he's going to have to spill whatever dirt he's been hiding in defense of Hillary Clinton to the Senate committee. What is interesting is that this is a bipartisan senatorial effort; further complicating the matter is the fact that recordings of some of these meetings may exist as well.

If Comey thought that he could damage the President by artful hintings and bluffing, it looks like he miscalculated.

And this is why I said the impeachment talk was just that: TALK.

Seriously, these idiots can't even coordinate properly on what their initial strategic tactic is going to be.

The only things they have on Trump is that he's a misogynist (he's not; look at Ivanka's involvement in business matters prior to the election), he's racist (um, Omarosa?), and that he's an overall big meanie (only when the situation requires it). Last I checked, none of those were impeachable offenses according to Democrat standards.

Why no, I'm still not tired of winning here. Funny you should ask.

Having never seen an orc army in action til now, I often criticized Tolkien and above all Peter Jackson for the wild, mob-like, self defeating frenzied behavior that they jointly portrayed in their book and films. I couldn't believe that the orcs would be so careless and stupid, above all when the fate of Mordor was at stake. Wash away the narrative. There are no "Comey Memos."

Meeting minutes and call logs are standard practice in business and government. Comey takes them. Trump's had them taken.

In all possible light, all it represents is writer's own interpretation of words that may have been spoken.

The gentlemanly but not necessary thing for Comey to have done is distribute to all parties with instruction: "Here's what I heard and how I took it, do you agree?"

Trump may have taken his own notes and they might say "Made clear to Comey I wasn't obstructing, but offering my candid thoughts. I expressed my opinion Flynn was a goid guy and my hope Comey could let it go. Comey agreed Flynn was nice guy."

At worst, this is simply business comnunications and files 101. Just because words were put to paper by one party doesn't make them true.

The impeachment talk is alive. It's not going away and it'll taint the midterm elections and Trump's agenda. The special counsel will drag things for years. Re the "Comey memos," there appears to be an effort to him them now. Suggestions have been made the congressional committees should leave their review and discussion to Mueller. It is beginning to look like Deep State fave Mueller's main mission will be to protect Comey, Obama, Clinton and their cronies. Still, leaking is a two-way street and we may see some of the memo contents no matter how badly the mandarins want to hide them.

I suspect at least half of all red-pilled people had their own experience. My personal one involved kicking a couple orcs out of a party in college because they weren't invited and no one knew who they were. I was stunned that they could get a mod of 20+ orcs to show up with crowbars and clubs inside of 20 minutes. It implies that this was the outcome they were seeking from the beginning.

As for the Comey memos, if they were more than just standard business practice of memo/note taking, he's about to be in a world of hurt. He should probably avoid going to the gym. Or Bathtubs. Or Parks.

Remember, the current "Comey Memo" stuff is a reporter being told the recollection of having read the memo by someone else. Which is to say they made them up.

Anonymous Teapartydoc May 19, 2017 9:36 AM

The whole thing has been a giant bluff from day one. Calling it is the only way to stop it. The thing to look out for now are leaks from the investigating office and grand jury testimony. The press will continue to try and double down and make it look like there's a case all the way up until Meuller says that there is no impeachable offense and prosecutes a few people for having bad memories under questioning. The press will then say that this is evidence of a deep conspiracy that the investigators were not up to getting uncovered.

"So, either Comey will be revealed as an unreliable source if he has no other memos, or he's going to have to spill whatever dirt he's been hiding in defense of Hillary Clinton to the Senate committee. "

Well, let's at least admit that there are more than these two possibilities. There may in fact be memos demonstrating a variety of ways the administration was attempting to stop the investigation of Flynn and others in the campaign that are corroborated in other ways.

What appears to be the case is that Comey has long had a habit of writing memos not about the investigation he may be undertaking, but rather memos concerning interactions that he believes are troubling or may come back to haunt him.

It's too bad that Trump attempted a bluff on the audio recordings rather than actually having them.

I assert that Comey's testimony in regards to whether there had been obstruction was in fact addressing the email scandal and specifically the tarmac meeting with Billy and Loretta. I don't think he meant the Russian investigation and that he was really providing cover for any obstruction that may have occurred last year. Remember, that testimony was before he got fired and Comey was just arrogant enough to think that he wasn't going to be fired any time soon.

"Deputy AG Rosenstein's report on Comey was quite damning and gave Trump the excuse to fire the director. Then Rosenstein appoints the Special Council to investigate Trump campaign ties to Russia. Strategy? If so, whose?"

The wording used in the commission of the special counsel (not prosecutor) provided for a wide scope which is common practice. That means any evidence discovered can be pursued regardless of what direction it takes them. That means that it can be flipped on Hillary too. It depends on very much on Mueller himself.

Blogger Cail Corishev May 19, 2017 9:59 AM

The same thing is true of the special counsel that the defeatists peed their pants over this week. An investigation of leaks and espionage can very easily shift from the complete fabrications about Trump/Russia to the actual crimes Comey was covering up for Obama/Clinton. Maybe that will happen and maybe it won't, but the Democrats have far more to lose from a hunt down those rabbit holes than the Trump administration does.

People need to get their heads around this: when the Left attacks Trump, he doesn't think, "How can I prove I'm innocent of this?" like a good, respectable Republican. He thinks, "How can I jam this back down their pie-holes, with extra hot sauce so it burns all the way down?" And when he knows they're bluffing, that just increases it. If you know, without a doubt, that you have a better hand than your opponent, what do you do? You don't try to get him to check or fold. You try to get him to go all-in and then throw the deed to his house in the pot too.

This is different from what we're used to, so we need to stop applying the same loser assumptions to it.

That doesn't mean he will always win. Sometimes he might lose, because they still have considerable power, and he's not perfect. But he's not going to give up or cave. If that's where your mind leaps at these stories, you haven't been paying attention to anything the man has said or done in the past year.

What all of these idiot leftist progs and political orcs seem to have lost sight of is that their political theatre BS has rapidly begun to move to the right of the spectrum towards annoyed/pissed (amusing -> ignore -> annoying -> pissed).
You have universities supporting segregation (sorry I mean safe spaces) for blacks funded by the school with public money. You have college professors calling loudly for the removal of all white males and no one makes a peep except for her supporters. Honor killings in the US by diseased Muslim invaders, gang rape of young girls by Mexican invaders who look suspiciously like downs syndrome like…. And on and on and on.
They have no idea of the monster they are breeding. Every day there are more and more quiet (socially) conservative people who are welcoming the day they can put a round down range. How many mothers who are even partially awake are happy to let the MSM screech about how their white sons are evil and the source of all problems? How many fathers want to see their 14 year old daughters pimped out by muslim thugs or gang raped by invading mexicans in the school bathroom.
This is being discussed surprisingly openly even in very conservative well off, insulated communities where the most common interaction with a minority is the landscaper. I know this won’t change no matter what is said to the left. History is clear that they will breed the killing fields that they so richly desire. Meanwhile stupid theatrics such as the comey drama just serve to further push people towards one extreme side or the other. In reference to one of yesterday’s discussions, I would be surprised if this only went into a slow cold war as social mood (shout out to DC!) breaks down. A slow cold war is the slow motion slaughter and replacement of whites in America. And given the levels of resentment being openly acknowledge I would be surprised if we don’t see something a little more “kinetic” develop.
At some point DC will be ignored and forgotten, not all at one, but step by step. The ability to project control is already cracked with California and the other leftists like NY openly standing against DC. Those doing it because of trump is irrelevant, it still shows the cracks in the central control.

Two things: This felt like an SJW Swarming Event. I mean they did have an attack planned but that was over the classified bullshit. Like Trump was sharing CI or something.

It was a nothing burger but they were geared up for it. Then Comey's memo story broke and they switched gears. Then all of sudden something clicked for the hivemind clicked and the Isolate and Swarm was on.

An interesting thing to note about an SJW attack is just how much of it depends on momentum. There has to be a sense of driving force that builds and builds during the Isolate and Swarm period.

The key to surviving an SJW attack is surviving that momentum building period, until the momentum dissipates. If you are anti-fragile and have a steely nerve you can tough it out. If you are fragile or your nerve breaks, you'll be left in pieces on the floor.

@64 the rapid fire of accusation- momentum- confession- expulsion is what creates the illusion of legitimacy. It is political theatre, a very specific and compact little drama, that provides a tidy, tight, behaviour-reward loop.

It is, in effect, a game. Playing by its rules is suicide, since in its rules you aren't a player, you're a scoring token.

What all of these idiot leftist progs and political orcs seem to have lost sight of is that their political theatre BS has rapidly begun to move to the right of the spectrum towards annoyed/pissed (amusing -> ignore -> annoying -> pissed).

Everyone plays their assigned role. Left-cultists' related efforts to double-down on demonizing (hate this term) "cishet" white men actually increases the odds that when eugenics becomes VERY fashionable, the leftists' Nightmare Demons will actually exist in armies of Literally Hitlers.

As I see it, the Full Court Press of the Deep State against Trump is mostly
1. Throw everything against the wall, something might stick, and
2. Keep the Admin involved in these sideshows so nothing upsets the Deep State's gravy train.
3. Clickbait, clickbait, clickbait. Gotta sell some soap ads or nobody gets a paycheck.
4. Keep the Left-cult energized.

But I concur with your view; all the Left is doing is adding fuel to the reversal of the political policies of their Cult Dogmas.

In 1987 there was a very high profile "case" wherein one of the "deep state" participants was supposed to testify before Congress regarding "Iran-Contra" ... instead the Director of the CIA, William Casey, ended up in the hospital with complications from a rare malignant brain tumor. Mr. Casey had for months been struggling with other health issues such as his prostrate.

What caught my attention at the time is that Mr. Casey's brain cancer was at least the second such instance of brain cancer of a political player in Washington.

I can't remember the previous instance(s) but it was somewhat high-profile and resulted in death in a fairly short time-frame (1986/87).

It has been a long time since then and I am curious to see if Comey might suddenly develop a rare fast growing cancer since it ultimately doesn't seem his testimony will benefit leftist progressive agenda unless the cucks play "soft"-ball during the potential hearing.

Trump leaked the 1995 State Tax return where he lost over $900 Million. It's why we'll never see his actual tax returns until the 2020 race. And, even then, just a summary.

The Alt-lite spaces were openly talking of burning the Swamp with fire. And other graphic ways the past few days. Social Mood is shifting. And, as we've discussed recently, no one has really gotten that "inventive" about ways to solve problems in less than legal ways.

Distributing tainted drugs, especially cocaine, is pretty brilliant. And that's only the first passes.

The thing that I've always hated the most about all forms of the Left is the complete disregard for History. I'm well studied enough to know what happens when you kick off a War. I also know what happens when the White Man Goes To War. Those descended Celtic roots come out. And the White Man does War with industrial efficiency.

Also, for a certain faction, do realize that the DNC offed a Jew for trying to help a Jew become President. There's some sad & deep irony there.

What irony? It's more like "Clinton crime family shot a low level employee who was a threat to them". Doubt that the Jewishness of Seth or Bernie was a factor, any more than Vince Foster's religion was a factor or the religion of any other Arkancide target mattered.

They've been at this for a long time, one more murder can't matter to them by now and I'm sure Comey is aware of that. Maybe he's even been reminded of it quietly in the last couple of weeks.

As an engineer by education with lots of thermo and process control background (PID) the cyclic aspects of the social and physical world have always stuck me as the oscillation of energy being transmitted through a system in a cyclic thermodynamic manner. From a "technical" standpoint that suggests some very interesting civilization scale engineering.
I'm clearly not qualified to have the level of philosophical discuss that occurs here, but where that aspect of the concept leads is something that has always stuck with me. That perspective put a lot of questions into a very different light.

Heroin is the better drug to target if one where to use illicit drugs as a vector. Given that heroin is most commonly injected you have the ability to use a much wider range of tools since you dont have to worry about first pass metabolism. here's the thing though, the NYT is NOT claiming that Comey is saying this.

the NYT says they're getting this from some anonymous third party source.

therefore, Comey HAS NOT ACTUALLY SAID ANYTHING. it's merely being *claimed* that his memos assert something.

which, remember, these are the same idiots who were claiming that Trump had hired prostitutes to piss on a bed in Moscow because Obama had once slept on it.

so the entire story could be invented out of whole clothe. it wouldn't be the first ( or fifth or tenth ) time the NYT / WashPo have pulled that publicizing an obviously false story game.

IF, though, the anon source actually was shown a memo, by Comey
THEN this raises entirely new questions.

such as -
does this anon source have security clearance to be viewing these materials? because, unless the anon has clearance similar or superior to director of the FBI, there's likely not much that Comey can show him without breaking security laws himself.

and then, of course, there's the fact that such a memo would indict Comey as having perjured himself before Congress when he testified that no pressure had been brought to bear on him.

That means any evidence discovered can be pursued regardless of what direction it takes them. That means that it can be flipped on Hillary too. It depends on very much on Mueller himself."

Yup. If Mueller wants to expand his jurisdiction beyond the Russia/Collusion investigation, all he need do is ask the Deputy AG--a Trump appointee--for permission. That's it. Rosenstein can grant permission or hive off the special counsel's request into a separate investigation.

Bottom line: The Democrats are just as psychologically vulnerable to an "unexpected" indictment of a high-level Democrat as they were to Trump's victory last November.
